50 Tanker 1 was a 1997 E.J. Murphy poly tank and body mounted on a two-seat 1972 Mack chassis.  This vehicle and tank were configured to carry 3000 gallons of water, but the tank, when mounted on a new chassis, is capable of holding up to 3500 gallons.  A PTO-driven 450 gallon per minute pump was installed in this piece as well, used mainly for filling the tank of an attack pumper.

Initially, this chassis was used as a trailer-hauling rig by a private company.  The CVFD purchased the vehicle in 1980 and constructed by hand a 3500 gallon steel tank which was attached to the chassis.  This combination served the department well until 1997 when the tanker was refurbished, replacing the old, heavy, and rusty steel tank with a light and durable plastic tank.

This piece served as 50 Tanker 1 until it was replaced in April of 2007, when it was temporarily designated Tanker 2.  This tanker was placed out of service and sold to the Goshen Vol. Fire Department of Shawville, Pennsylvania on August 28, 2007.
